Seamus and Hugo very quickly pick up tunes, and actions and repeat them. They seem to memorise most information through music. For example, we have taught them the days of week etc. by making up a song. They innovate with musical activities learned in Kids Music Company classes and make their own fun at home. For example, singing their books as you do in their classes, sounding out syllables as musical notes and so on.
He can pick a beat out anywhere and often drums along to sounds or music, he picks up his little keyboard and records tunes he makes up - gets a lot of pleasure from both playing the music then listening to it with me. He has good rhythm. And his maths skills are amazing - I know some of this will have come from the music classes.
Xavier can sing along, love reading the books and listening the stories. He loves music.
The love of music and movement no matter what, how or where. repetition of songs and sound... I am not musical at all but enjoy music and as a family we enjoy many many different artists. Maths so far has been a thing Olivia enjoys too*...The teachers were good at encouraging children to join in ... and unsuitable behaviour from kids and parents were kept in toe...
Maths and music are centred in the same part of the brain. Many maths concepts are supported in KMC songs. eg numbers, seriation and positional language such as in front, behind, under, over, etc.
